The Company History of Ohnhäuser GmbH

1955: Foundation of the company "Gustav Ohnhäuser Mechanical Workshop" by Gustav Ohnhäuser senior, as a mechanical and repair workshop for the repair of two-wheeled vehicles and small mechanical devices. At that time the company was based in Wallerstein in the old dairy building.
1967: Move into our first own workshop in the Bischof-Weckert-Strasse in Wallerstein.
1972: Gustav Ohnhäuser junior takes over the management.
1974: Development and production of equipment, tools and devices for MBB Donauwörth.
1974: Commissioning of the first NC lathe.
1976: Development and production of automation solutions that were awarded the "Bavarian State Prize."
1976: Production and delivery of the first "flying components".
1986: Comprehensive extension of the work area.
1986 Continuous development and expansion of mechanical production with regard to the CNC milling, CNC turning and grinding processes.
1992: Ohnhäuser employs more than 100 people for the first time.
1993: Expansion of the service portfolio to include sheet metal processing using the "laser cutting" process.
1993: Certification according to QSF-A, the quality assurance requirements of the Federal Association of the German Aviation and Space Industry e.V ..
1994: Expansion of administration and production.
1997: Manufacture and delivery of mechanical assemblies for the interior of civil aircraft.
1999: Maximum possible expansion of the location within the locality to a production area of 5,000 m².
2000: Expansion of the service portfolio to include the area "system development & module manufacture".
2002: Certification according to DIN EN 9100 by the company EUROCOPTER.
2006: New production and administration building on the "green field" in Rudolf-Diesel-Strasse 1 in Wallerstein with a total area of 10,500 m².
2008: Ohnhäuser employs more than 200 people for the first time.
2009: Certification according to the standards DIN EN 9100: 2003 and DIN ISO 9001: 2008 by an accredited certifier.
2010: Certification according to QSF-B, the quality assurance requirements of the Federal Association of the German Aviation and Space Industry e.V. by EUROCOPTER.
2010: Manufacture and delivery of structural and kinematic assemblies for civil Airbus commercial aircraft.
2011: Expansion of the production area in Rudolf-Diesel-Straße by 2,000 m².
2013: Introduction of LEAN management.
2014: Largest coherent order in the company's history for the manufacture and delivery of components and assemblies for cargo gates of civil Airbus commercial aircraft.
2017: Ohnhäuser employs more than 300 people for the first time.
2017: Ohnhäuser receives the Global supplier award from RECARO Aircraft Seating GmbH & Co.KG as the world's best supplier of complex mechanical components and functional assemblies for business and economy class aircraft seats.
2017: Expansion of the service portfolio to include the "Additive Manufacturing" area utilising the "Laser Powder Bed Fusion" process.
2018: Expansion of the new wing of the administration building by 600 m².
2018: Manufacture and delivery of components and assemblies for the e-mobility of commercial vehicles.
2019: Certification and commissioning as QSF-B supplier by Premium Aerotec for the delivery of mechanical components for various Airbus programs.
2019: Expansion in the "Additive Manufacturing" area with the patented screen printing process "3D Mass Customization ®".
2019: Introduction of an energy management system according to DIN EN ISO 50001.
2020: Gustav Ohnhäuser establishes the Ohnhäuser Family Foundation as the main shareholder of Ohnhäuser GmbH and sets the course for the future.
